Sealants are preventive covers of the holes and clefts of the posterior teeth, that is, the molars. The molars have as morphological elements holes and grooves on their chewing surfaces, elements that retain food and germs, the removal of which is difficult by brushing, especially by children. This results in these surfaces being prone to caries attack. This phenomenon can be prevented with a large success rate by placing the sealants. Their lifespan is around 5 years, where they may need to be replaced and should be checked by the dentist every 6 months.
